Shudu holds various Certi cates in Safety Management from diff erent FET learning institutions. He holds, namely SHEQ OFFICER, SHEQ PRACTITIONER CONSTRUCTION REGULATION MINES HEALTH AND SAFETY ACT AND PRACTICE (ISO 9001 / 14001 / 18001) Certi cates. His certi cates such as Dealing with Emergences (Evacuation), Hand Tools (Competency), Hand Power Tools (Competency), Scaff olding Erector, Scaff olding Inspector, Basic Fire Fighting, First Aid, Working at Heights and other safety related qualifi cations are accredited by the Dept. of Labour, HWSETA, ETPD-SETA
Shudu has worked various industries ranging from Energy, Construction to Safety Consultation and Training. His responsibilities at Eskom (while still full-time employed) included Mechanical Assistant, Semi-Skilled Mechanical Fitter, Legger (Insulation) & Safety Offi cer. He is thus a good Safety Offi cer in that he has also worked in dangerous Power Plants environment at Eskom wherein he undertook the responsibility of Safety Offi cer and practitioner at Eskom. At Umbuso Training Services and VPK Business Ventures, he worked mainly as a safety trainer (Facilitator) and consultant for more than 3 years.
He thus understands the practical work (ESKOM), Legislative & Consultation work (Umbuso Training Services & VPK Business Ventures). He is a professional with experience in the areas of OHS management, construction and emergency management services, safety prevention programs, and worker’s compensation claims management. Shudu is responsible for all aspects of OSHA compliance including development of all our safety programs & on-site training program, management, documentation, risk assessment, safety inspections, underwriting, and the claims processing, accident investigations & audits.
